What is this about?

Here at Wabbit Survival, we see a lot of players come and go, but we are not too big to get to know you. We hear about people's lives: happy things, sad things and everything in between. Something that comes up time and time again, however, is depression. That, and other issues with the mental well being of our members.

Why is this important?

Mental health is a huge issue in today's hectic, stressful world. It has the potential to affect almost anyone. One in four people in the United Kingdom will experience mental health problems in any given year, as well as one in five in the USA, and it is one of the main causes of the worldwide disease burden. It is regularly underfunded in many healthcare systems, and there is a wide feeling of a stigma and lack of social acceptance in most countries, especially among men.

What can you do?

We have many members of our own staff and leadership who suffer from a variety of mental health problems, and we like to think of ourselves as a family, supporting each other in our struggles. We would like to extend that to our members, and encourage you to be aware of these issues, and if you have the means, donate to them.

We have chosen to support Mind, a UK charity for supporting those with mental health problems, and advocating for them in the public domain. In their own words:

We provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. We campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding. We won't give up until everyone experiencing a mental health problem gets support and respect.

We would be grateful for any support you can give to our campaign, no matter how little. If you do not want to give to our campaign, you can donate directly here, or just donate to a charity local to your own country or region. If you do this, we'd love to know, so please send us a message.

Mind is a registered charity in England (no. 219830) and a registered company (no. 424348) in England and Wales.

To find out exactly what Mind do, click here for their about page. They provide help services to those in need, and legal services for those in trouble. You can ring their infoline to get help, or look at their myriad of online resources. Mind's President is Stephen Fry, a figurehead and ambassador for promoting their causes. They are dedicated to making a difference.

For 70 years, Mind has been committed to making sure that everyone experiencing a mental health problem can access the support they need and is treated with the respect they deserve. Through public campaigns, influencing decision makers and the services our local Minds deliver in communities across England and Wales, we have touched millions of lives.

TTC_6710We are not health professionals, and we cannot directly help with any problems you may be having. We recommend you do not air any serious issues you have on the server, or to members of staff or other players. The best thing to do is make sure those around you in your personal life can help you, and to seek help from a professional. Here in the UK you can get help on the NHS. You can start by going to your GP, and if you need it they can then refer you to a specialist. Some resources are listed below:

For those not in the UK we cannot list all the possible resources here, but many of them have information that is applicable to anyone, anywhere. If you know of a worthy charity that is helping people in your country of origin, please message an admin and we will review it and add it to a list here.
