there is a command for this look it up
i'm sorta infuriated with having to wait while there is a zombie siege every night
While it may not be intended, your "suggestions" are coming across with a bit of an attitude.
We are quite capable of looking up commands, in fact we know most of them, but we choose not to utilize them on this server.
Our server is called Wabbit Survival. This means we try to maintain most of the survival aspects to the game. Night time is an important part of survival and we will not be adding any commands to skip past it.

This is an old post, I know, but I was going through the forums when I found this, and it was interesting as I've previously had this thought. Having one person sleep for daytime isn't straying too far from vanilla. Also, I know some players who need daytime sleep in a bed, then try to get everyone else on the server to either sleep or afk, just so they can continue their build. Overall, this would be a useful addition to the players who desperately need it to be daytime, and for the others, it would remove the hindrance of having to stop what they're doing and afk for that one player. Just voicing my opinion, this post will probably never be seen anyway, but just wanted to write this as it would be a nice addition for the players.

Well, that's a bit of thread necromancy...
In general I would agree with pegasus, 't is a survival server, and that includes nights. When it comes to most builds, you can light up (and fence off) an area before building.
If any change is needed, it's not changing the way how the server works, but the culture of the players, making it more acceptable to ask for everyone to sleep.
That leaves the issue of zombie sieges, against which lighting up and fencing off an area isn't enough, but to change the bed-rule just for that seems a bit much. I wonder if there's a better solution for that, because as is the only way to have a large number of villagers in one place is to lock them up in tiny cells. While that is practical, it doesn't look as nice and natural.
