Tool vanishing bug?

Hi,

Ive come across a 'bug'. A few days ago, my pickaxe vanished and yesterday my sword vanished as well. Im pretty sure I didn't drop them and its been pretty annoying. I don't know why this is happening. Can someone try to fix it( or give me a refund)?

I'm fairly sure this happened to me last map, however I expect that tools just get dumped in chests or dropped and lost by accident not some tool gobbling bug 😛

There is no bug or glitch that causes items to disappear from a players inventory like this.  While we have had the odd server crash that has caused "one off" server wide issues in the past, we have not had any this map.

While we can no longer track this, we do know from past experience that it is usually from unintentionally throwing items on the ground, not paying attention to durability, miss-placing items in chests or death.  

I would also like to assure you that staff can only see into a players inventory but they do not have the permissions to edit anything.  Only admins have that ability and as I am currently the only admin actively playing on the server, I can assure you that no one has taken anything from your inventory.

While I am sure this is frustrating, I am afraid there is nothing to fix.

Along with what Peg said, the sounds/particles that happen when tools break are mostly bugged currently, so it's harder to notice when your tool breaks.

The curse of vanishing on Minecraft is one such trouble-maker. When this enchantment is applied on any weapon, it disappears after death and makes it impossible to loot the weapon. This is one of the rare curses and is not easily obtained. The curse is available just in one level and can be found extensively on specific places in the game. As mentioned above, the curse of vanishing was included in the game only in the exploration update.
