Alright so I'd like to start this off by saying as a result of this my girlfriend and I decided to no longer play on the server as our experience was ruined by others. So obviously this issue doesn't need to be resolved, but I'm going to complain anyway as that's what I do. Let's start at the basics. My girlfriend and I started playing a few weeks ago and were on the server constantly. We worked hard and built our base up and were going through our own little projects. Then we invite another player to live near us. Jadd35 is his name and he is nice enough. We help him get on his feet and provided a shelter of sorts. Then a couple days later I see WabbitFace is explaining the Town rule in more detail. I message him about it asking whether or not what I was doing was allowed. He explains to me that it really isn't and asking that I please not do it anymore. I understood completely what he said and agreed to no longer continue what I had been doing. So I no longer invited people to live near me and I no longer gave people some basic starting gear. Now, Jadd35 invited another person to live with him. I noticed and explained to him that we aren't a town and as such he shouldn't invite any more people into our little area. He claimed to understand and said he would no longer invite others. Now at this point my girlfriend and I have put much more time into the server and have been enjoying it still. Then one day my girlfriend gets on the server and sees that all of our neutral mobs were killed. I come on as quickly as possible just to double check. They were indeed gone and after making a report, Searra managed to take time out of her schedule and rollback the area. Caspar was also helpful in explaining the importance of an in-game report and how they tend to be resolved much more quickly. The player who had killed them was also the same player Jadd35 had invited to live with him. Which brings me to my next part. At this point in time there are 5 to 9 people living in my area. They've build a town around me and destroyed  another player's home and completely taken over his area, which he had walled off. So to build their town that is against the rules, they destroyed another person's work which is also against the rules. Now I didn't notice this for a few days as I had little reason to leave my underground base. Why would I when all of my projects are in it? Then a newish player named UltraBow breaks into my house, while Searra is rolling back my mobs. He was told that I had an enchanting table by Jadd35 and because he couldn't get through y locked doors, he dug underneath and got inside. He the proceeded to use my enchanting table and leave. I told Searra and she asked if we fixed it. My girlfriend had, not knowing she wasn't supposed to, and Searra asked if I really wanted to make it an issue. I said no as it was easily fixed and that I just didn't want it to happen again. Now, no less than two days later, my girlfriend tells me all of my oak trees which I planted and put signs around showing I had put them there were destroyed. And to add insult to injury, the person who destroyed them then built his house right where the trees had been and used them to make it. I live in a snow biome so the oak trees had to be brought in, hence why I'm annoyed by this. I do as Caspar had before suggested and file an in-game report. I mess up the summary accidentally so I make another adding on to it. Then looking around at the town I decide to file a report for it as well. I then put up signs on the homes saying, "Towns are illegal Please vacate asap". Then I write a book explaining why the town is illegal and that I'm tired of being griefed by the towns members. I put 6 or so copies of books in front of certain houses. Now I joined back in on the server today to see if I could catch a staff member online and discover signs placed outside my home. Two "sets" one being from the staff member Javii and the other set from Jadd35. I also discover a chest placed in my home with a sign. I can't access it as it is locked, but it has a sign on it, meaning yet again my home was broken in to. Now the signs from Jadd35 were apologetic and as he had seen Javii's signs before me, they were also regretful. Javii's signs, however, were an insult. According to his signs I have no right to request these people to move away and out of their illegal settlement, but also that if I wish to stop being griefed I have to move, not them. So tell me again how I am in the wrong? Why should I have to move my large and time filled base to keep from being griefed by players who shouldn't be there in the first place. Then to make matters even more interesting, he didn't even do anything about the town or the destruction of another player's entire home. They destroyed his area and mine, yet we are the ones who must move. If that is the solution to this problem, the why should anyone ever play on that server again. I'm going to miss playing on Wabbit. It was my favorite survival server I had ever played on. I enjoyed talking to the wonderful community and being helped by certain staff members, Javii obviously being the exception. I tried to keep this short, but I obviously failed. I just want someone to understand what I've had to go through and how after all this time I'm rudely told by a staff member that I have to move. Sorry, but that isn't going to happen. Go and look inside my base. Go and look at the work that was put into it. Then look at the destruction cause by a town that shouldn't even exist. Imagine if it was your base and then judge me. Again, sorry for the lengthy report. I've only filed this under player-reports as I'm still reporting that settlement and UltraBow using this.

This is the exact reason we have the no town rule.  People can live together but you invited someone you do not know.  It is one thing for a small group of people to organize an area to work together but you invited someone you did not know and by the looks of it did not share your vision.  This person you invited then invites more because you had different visions and your problem has evolved like all previous "towns" on this server.
Living together is allowed, the rule is there to protect you and you broke it by inviting an unknown quantity to live near you.

As to all the grief, I am afraid that comes with being on a public server.  We can fix it but we can not stop it.  With every map reset we learn from our mistakes.  Most of us spend hours, if not days, looking for a secluded spot far from spawn and warps to avoid being victims of griefers.  The first map I was less than 500 blocks from spawn, I learnt my lesson and have actually not been griefed on the last 2 maps due to the time I spent picking just the right spot.

Moving sucks but so does living around random people.  Next time make sure you are several thousand blocks from spawn and clearly mark out your area . . . . and remember "stranger danger" .  Don't invite random people to build near you if you want to keep you base as safe as possible.

You certainly have my condolences for the troubles that other players have put you through.

I understand your frustration, I really do, it is alright to vent and let things off of your chest but it denotes to me that your bashing the whole server experience that we have to offer just from few players. It really is a risk you take when coming onto a fairly active public server knowing that there is a large chance in you finding that you would run into some sort of issues as it would be contextually expected from any server as no one or nothing is perfect. It was also another risk you took trusting people that you didn't know well to live near you, and both of these decisions are not in the staff team's hands. Yes, it is our duty to help you in these situations and we most certainly do our best to assist you in maintaining a good experience for people who player on the server and we do our best to serve justice; ultimately it was a risk that we pretty much all take when playing on this server.

As peg said, we can fix it but we cannot stop it, it would be great if you were to give this server another go, as you said, you and your girlfriend have worked very hard on what you have already made on the server and if you wanted to take peg's advice into consideration. On the other hand, my advice is that the community that the server has to offer is so great and I would never give up on it. I do wish you the best on your journey to finding other servers, I'll try to word this in the least obnoxious way possible, but can you find a community as good as ours?

If you do decide to give the server another shot, I want to grant you assurance that the staff will work to their best ability to help maintain a good experience for you on the server.

Hello Caged,

I'm really sorry to hear about this problem, I ran into something similar  (actually, exactly the same) I ended up packing everything I owned and leaving the area completely, I went out and found a new house and pretty much started over. I know that sounds like the worst thing ever and it wasn't fun to do, but after it was done in continued to build in peace and solitude and now I'm much happier and farther along on the server than before.

Wabbitface is really an amazing server despite some of the people that come through, I really think if you wanted to continue, the effort of moving is worth it. And if you need an extra inventory I'd be happy to help, because I know how annoying it can be.

Anyways, I'm sorry for what has happened to you and I wish you the best in all your endeavors.

Aparantly my base isn't far from a spawn area and I am frequently greifed. Most of the time it doesn't bother me and I only report things if they are significant but staff have always assisted and rolled back any lost property or killed animals etc. I'm sure everyone experiences it and I would say don't be leaving the server because of it as it will happen at some point but can always be fixed and people will always help you if you are stuck. 🙂
